Triple Haze is a take on one of our most popular year round offerings, Purple Haze. It is a strong golden lager made with malted barley and wheat. It is hopped with German Perle hops to give the beer a delicate hop flavor. After the beer is filtered, a generous amount of fresh raspberry puree is added. This gives the beer a tartly sweet taste and aroma as well as a bright purple color and haze.

Cheap bottle from total wine. Odd orange color with lots of haze and just maybe a weird purple tint. Yea, it smells like a heavy IPA. This is a triple IPA according to the label, but I don't see any mention of fruit in it so why is it styled as a fruit flavored beer on RB? But hey, I see the description here days they add raspberry puree into it, so be it, I guess. When I taste it, I have no indication of fruit. I know there seems to be a hint of color in this, maybe from the berry, but you cannot find it in the taste. It must be buried deep down under all those terribly on style hops. Lots of juicy terrible hop hop hops. Now, back to the IPA; its pretty boozy, lots of warming warning sensations down to the tummy. Mouthcoating hops with barely any carbonation. Nasty nellie of a bastardly dastardly bitter IPA. Got to be one of the most bitter IPA I've had from Abita. Quite a big time one sided ball of blistering IPA. You like IPA, better put this on yer bucket list, its quite a manly drink, hehehheh. Yea abita, calling this a triple IPA nails it, but its probably just a double imperial IPA. There, you have it. Blah. Somebody get me a cheap pale lager for a chaser, I can't taste nuttin but bitterness for the last half hour. Mr. Yuk has visited my palate.

Hazy orange and copper coloured body with a smallish two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of raspberries, yeast, bread, fruit, alcohol and a lot of sugars - very nice, with the raspberries showing just as much as the purple haze. Medium-bodied; Strong rich malt and yeast flavours with some raspberries and other fruits noticeable. Sugars hit towards the end with caster sugar, honey and a bit of fruit-based sugars as well. Aftertaste is relatively straight-forward with the yeast, malt and a bit of raspberries showing through. Overall, a good beer that is more of a fruit beer than a Tripel, but this shows promise and is definitely recommended for anyone who likes Purple Haze. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 16-February-2016 for US$3,99 sampled at our hotel in Langhorne, Pennsylvania on 15-October-2016 for our oldest daughterβs fourth birthday - Happy Birthday Claire!

On tap at Ole Saint. Pours a hazy orange with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is wheat, berry, herbal. Thin mouth, berry, wheat, not as watery as regular haze, decent.

Mild raspberry aroma. Clear amber, thin head, good lace. Mild raspberry flavor with a malty end. Thin, watery mouthfeel, alcohol not noticeable. A little artificial tasting, actually weaker than regular purple haze, but drier.

Draft sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a hazy pink-orange color with a thin head. Poor head retention. Aroma of banana, berries, bread and a phenolic finish. The taste is citrus, berries and a sugary finish. Medium bodied. A bit too sweet.

Location: Draft at Capital Ale, 9/9/11
Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet, raspberries, grains, yeast, and floral hops.
Appearance: Pours a reddish, amber, and slightly purple color with a small head.
Flavor: The taste is rather sweet, lots of raspberry, some light malt, and light bitterness.
Palate: The body is medium, fairly fizzy mouthfeel, and a light booziness.
Overall Impression: This one is rather similar to the Purple Haze, I don't mean that in a bad way, but you can see and taste the obvious resemblance. It is definitely a sweeter offering then what I tend to enjoy, but I found the sweetness working pretty well in this one. I like what they did here.
