On tap at brewery.
Poured into a sample glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color close to black with a thin white to off white foamy head. Subtle thin lacing.
The smell started off with a big sprucy/piney needle-like glossiness roaming all around. Subtle underneath of dark malts- light chocolate, subtle rye.
The flavor takes in all of the previously mentioned flavors combining nicely. sprucey with a subtle rye spice, still, a bold roastiness of the dark malts (snd some coffee/chocolate roast).
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation rides fairly light
Overall, good Imperial Stout with fun aspects going on. Would have again more likely in the Fall.

750 ml bottle thanks to AdamC. Much thanks! Picked up on our last trip to Burlington, VT. Pitch black color, thin white head. Aroma is mild rye whiskey, chocolate and coffee-ish tones.
The flavor shows a decent imperial stout base with the rye whiskey having a mild character. Mouthfeel is oily and slick. Barrel is mild but lasting after the swallow. Enjoyable without question. Would prefer a tad more barrel but pretty nice body and mouthfeel.

Pitch black, brown edges of the glass. Smells great. Spruce tip is certainly presentLots of chocolate and yeah, a bit of whiskey. smells really nice. whiskey is super present. Good chocolate qualitiy, the spruce isnβt really that intense. Rye whiskey is present but not intense either. light mouthfeel. the taste is all over the place. Itβs a stout. Nothing rememberable.
