The Whetstone Beer Co. waterfront brewery was partially built on footings from a bridge built in 1920, which were technically in New Hampshire. Today Whetstone’s bar spans that state line, and it’s one of the few places you can have a beer in two states at once. Our Borderline beer celebrates that fun fact.

Very cloudy pale orange. Light aroma. A little orange and lemon with pine. Very light beer I every way. Flavor, mouthfeel and finish. Has what I’d call this really bland malt taste once the initial bitterness ends.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass at the brewpub.
The appearance was a glossy yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds leaving some light speckled lacing roaming around the glass.
The smell had a sharp sweet to bitter blend of citrus rind and a bright pine.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine in a nice bittersweet fashion. There’s no aftertaste but it had a semi-dry citrus finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation hits like a good APA and yields a substantial bitterness level.
Overall, I liked this APA more than the last one. I’d have this one again.

Whetstone: pours gold with a white head. Aroma is loads of dank citrus a biscuity malts. Taste is nice and bitter but it is also quite bright. Very well balanced and very tasty. Easily the best i had of theirs.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear gold with a white foam crown. This is impressive stuff. The aroma is great, fresh and vibrant, with lots of pithy citrus, grapefruit. Balanced flavor with modest sweetness, dry pale malts, biscuits, more pithy grapefruit, other clean citrus fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Clean, fresh and balanced on the finish, juicy and citrusy. Wow. Nicely done Whetstone Station. Excellent.
