Tap at Scumm, Pescara, Italy. Pours dark amber, with nice shades of colour, and with fine white foam. Aroma is clearly malty, caramel. Maybe a little unidimensional. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is fairly sweet, again a little simple. Final is a little longer than usual, a little sticky.

In my point of view, it is a pleasant beer, my bottle was rather dry and hoppy with notes of malt and caramel, not bad, easy to drink. 20.07.2018, buying it in one supermarket close to Vasto, drinking it at Petacciato.

Pours a not too attractive, quite murky dark amber. One finger of quite dense white head, good retention and nice lacing. Good intensity if not much depth in the aroma: caramel malts base with a slight toasted hint, rather strong fruitiness (red fruits and orange) and quite vivid spiciness (pepper). Taste notes shows good intensity as well: caramel and slightly toasted malts base, with a bit of residual sugary sweetness (brown sugar), fruitness as per aroma, with rather vivid spiciness (pepper) and some earthiness in the finish. Medium to high sweetness, medium bitterness, a slight sweet edge in the mouth and a balanced finish. Overall nicely balanced, though not super clean/polished. Medium bodied with average carbonation; borderlining a soft mouthfeel but still quite smooth and easy to drink. Very classicly belgian-like and quite nice at that.

The ‘red’ version of Opperbacco’s rye saison, flavoured the Belgian way with coriander and curacao. From the trusted stubby Opperbacco bottle, bought at Gedeelde Vreugde. Snow white, irregular, medium thick, moussy head lacing in dots over an initially clear, warm ‘metallic’ orange-hued amber beer, turning misty and more peachy-tinged with sediment. Aroma of cherry jam, marmalade even, dried banana, honey, bergamot, rumptopf cherries, ripe medlar, caramel sauce, yellow raisins, vague camphor. Sweetish fruity onset, apple, medlar, banana and candied orange impressions but nothing too overpowering or cloying, softly fizzing carb, supple and lean mouthfeel; slick caramelly and thinly peanutty malt base, rounded and somewhat resinous; spicy notes of dried coriander seed and curaçao are obvious enough and a tad ethereally aromatic, blending with a late, mellow hop bitterishness. Dried fruity and caramelly notes linger. Nothing too ambitious or pretentious, aged a bit in an unexpectedly elegant way, basically a classic Belgian style ‘ambrée’, but a technically accomplished one for sure.

Thank you! Tasting glass draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. The name spelled something far more interesting. Quite hazy orange with uneven white bubbles. Nose is weak, almost stale, dirty yeasty & clear metallic note. Taste is old sugar, grain yeast, old hay, unpleasant dirty tasting yeast, grain, emmer (definitely not used here but I do taste a similar profile),… Massively grainy notes, herbal malt, iron, metallic,… Not terrible or a total misfire but far from enticing.
