This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a semi-burnt chestnut brown color with a nice transparency about it. A milky to off white colored foamy one finger head quickly dissipated leaving a small cap in the center of the beer. Light lacing clings yet slides into the beer as it went down.
The smell starts off with some roasty nuttiness along with some bready malts. Light toast slides in for the balance.
The taste had a dry sweetness about it. I’d say it gets a bit rough in the aftertaste taking the nuts and bready malts a bit further.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body, surprisingly enough, I don’t mind a little more \"weight\" than what I’m used to seeing for the style. Still, a nice sessionability about it yields a smooth carbonation and proving it can be quite smooth.
Overall, I’d say Queen City did what they’re supposed to with this one. I’d have again preferably with some food.

Draft at the brewery, 7/5/15
Clear amber-brown pour with a tan head. Munich style malt aroma, nice caramel and toffee presences. Lightly hopped. Smooth, clean feel, with a soft carbonation.

4 oz. taster @ The Brewery. Poured dark brown with a white head. Low carbonation level. Sweet aroma of molasses and roasted malts. The flavor found burnt caramel, roasted malts, and faint hints of barely and smoke. Medium body and a light roasted malt aftertaste. Spot on presentation of the style.

dark brown appearance. Nose is nice, sweetness and cheap candies, butterscotch. Taste is also a sweet candy like taste, some cotton candy, pepsi cola and woody toffee and burnt brown sugar. maybe some mild grape.
