Taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is dark brown with massive 2-finger beige-to-light-brown head foamy with good retention. Aroma is light roast, herbal tea, cinnamon/cardamom spice. Taste is more tea than porter--hint of roasted malts but mainly weak vegetal tea. Palate is light bodied with frothy texture, soft carbonation and vegetal tea-like finish. Overall, if this had tasted as it smelled, this would have been amazing as it does seem to be a natural complement, but somewhere along the way it lost its porter-ness (and even its chai-ness) and became mainly about tea.

22 oz. bottle from the brewery. Nice appearance with a slowly fading off white head. Aromas of roasted chocolate roast, chai tea, cinnamon and light dry roast. The flavor falls right in line with the nose. Secondary flavor of light coffee tones. Texture brings the dry roasted texture with a mild carbonation level. Overall this was a nice surprise. Flavor is a respectable balance of roast and chai spices. I opened a 22 oz. bottle alone and finished it rather easy. Nice drink.

Bottle thanks to Brian! Pours a very dark brown with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges slowly. Aroma has a nice combination of Chai and roasted malts with a hint of chocolate. Flavor has a spiciness from the Chai with a velvety roasted malts and a touch of chocolate in the finish.

On tap at Southern New Hampshire Brewers Fest. Enjoyed in a 2 ounce glass. 2-finger coffee head, dark nut brown appearance. Smell has a big up front black tea scent followed by sugar and cream with masala chai spices. Taste is similar to the scent. Smells like my morning Masala Chai. Lots of nice spices and black tea with sugar and cream added. Medium body. This is a very delicious take on a porter.
