Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours dark brown with a creamy/fizzy light tan head. Aromas of roasted malt and dark fruit. Or nuts and vanilla. Probably. Very smooth. There’s nut and chocolate. And I think vanilla. Though not all that sweet, nor bitter, it’s like eating cake in a way. Tho having just chewed up some jalapenos my taste may be off. Finishes fairly chocolate.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a huge foamy brown head. The aroma was bitter, tangy and faintly roasty. The flavor was creamy malts, cocoa, vanilla and faint dry roasty malts. The finish was medium length and malty with a lingering vanilla presence. Medium body. The alcohol was well hidden. Decent.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Wine and Beer Westpark, 2/25/10
Aroma: Roasted malts, chocolate, a good amount of cherry, some nuttiness, and earth
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a fizzy beige head, some lace
Flavor: The taste is somewhat sweet and fruity, with a fruity sourness to it as well
Palate: The carbonation is fairly lively, with a somewhat sticky feel, and an astringent finish
Overall Impression: Wow, this one is not at all what I was expecting at all. It looks like a brown ale, it smells like a brown ale, but it tastes like sour fruits. Man, a total surprise. I'm not even sure how I feel. Did I like this? Did it work? I can't decide. I think it is interesting, but ultimately I wouldn't say it is making me pumped to rush out and try it again. Weird stuff...

I don’t know if there was something wrong with the bottle, but it just wasn’t that good. Pour was promising, with a nice ceamy brown color and a slightly tan head. It was all downhill from there, notes of sour and sweetness powered the aroma, with flavors that followed in that same line. Could have been a bad bottle.

Sample at Breckenridge Ball Park Brew Pub in Denver. The beer is a deep brown color with a medium beige head that is fully lasting. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted nuts, chocolate and coffee. Medium body with flavors of grainy malt, chocolate, roasted coffee and some hops. The finish is sweet malt up front with a lingering moderately bitter coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Much more intense than your standard brown ale. Lots of roasted malt, nuts, and butter in the flavor. Aroma is lighter with dry roasted malt. Hops are lacking in this beer, but that is ok. Alcohol is well hidden and I am surprised to read how strong this beer is.Very sweet, rich and heavy, nearly cloying, but overall it works. At the top of its style. Black with a thick khaki colored head.

Meh, its alright. Not much of an aroma, just a weak hint of bitter cocoa and metallic note. Alcohol a little too present in the flavor. Some mild caramel and chocolate, a hint of floral hops but just barely. Also, a spicy note, almost like cinnamon. Warming, alcoholic finish. I don’t know the ABV on this one, but either way its too apparent. Brown color tinted purple, with a small head, no lacing and low overall carbonation.

Deep translucent wine-like red-brown, thin-medium creamy off-white head. Toasty, chocolatey aroma with grapeskin notes. Sweet body with chocolate and toast, brown sugar, and prickly alcohol. Red grapes add a fruity character. A surprisingly harsh brown ale; the flavors simply don’t meld well. I’m glad I’m not drinking the entire bomber.
