On tap at RateBeer Best. Pours a dark amber with medium frothy beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is rye, resin, grass. Medium body, rye, spice, toasted malt, light bitterness, very good.

On nitro. Great malt bill for this beer, complemented very well by the nitrogen creaminess. I would like to see this beer maybe 20IBUs less to make it perfectly balanced for an imperial red. Tempest SF.

dark reddish brown color. Very thick full body. Lots of caramel and strawberries, but a bit too much of everything and doesn’t meld well.

Draft. A deep red beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as lighter notes of alcohol and hard roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of hops combined with notes of spices, leading to a very bitter finish.

On tap at the Concord E.J. Phair brewpub pouring up murky mahogany with lasting tan head and full on sheet lacing coating every millimeter of the interior of the glass. The modest aroma emits some pine hops as well as a mild mix of malt roastiness and wort. The taste is up front malt sweetness and roastiness that quickly gets trampled by robust pine hoppy yumminess. Very pleasing grassiness to resiny hop bitterness take over the flavor before a firm malty backbone grows with the help of assertive malt roastiness take the flavor to the finish. Wonderful stuff where the pine hops persists relentless deep into the after taste.

A deep ruby brown ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, nice rosewater and nutty malt, light c-hops. In mouth, an intense oily hoppy ale, warming alcohol, flavours are blending nicely, grapefruit notes, rich and onctuous. Wow! On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009.

On tap. Pours a dark reddish brown with a creamy beige head. Intense, fat hop aroma. Quite full-bodied, plenty of roasted malt and burned caramel. Solid hoppiness in the finish but not overly bitter. 110709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is rosted malt, chocolate and light vanilla note. Sweet roasted malt and chocolate flavoured. Sweet and acidic at once. Solid bitterness breaking the dense malt flavours into a lingering mix of hops and chocolate into the far finish.
