Draft as Hook & Ladder. Minor league aroma and head. A decent sweet taste, I like blonde ales so kill me.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and hazy yellow/gold color. Aroma is light malt, hint of hops. Taste is light malt-some sweet, some hops bite. Easy.

December 2008 Beer of the Month Club
Overall Impression: This was a nice smooth Blonde Ale, not too unique, but it drinks well

Pours gold into a shaker. Micro head quickly subsides to hug rim. Stale malt aromas. Sour from front to back. Lasting metallic finish.

Nice crisp clear amber coloured body with a thick white head. Aroma of fresh malt, strong hops, cardboard, metal and a hint of fresh fruit. Medium-bodied; Strong metallic twang and a bitter malt flavour up front with some hops and a bit of yeast in the finish. Aftertaste shows some body, alcohol and a definite effervescent taste. Overall, not a great beer - worth trying perhaps, but really, many beers are better worth your money! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle (as ’Hook & Ladder Golden Ale) purchased on 03-May-2008 from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington D.C., on 20-May-2008.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a bright golden color with a medium sized white head that faded quickly. The aroma was sour, tangy generic "beer". The flavor was sour, tangy and a bit dry. Rather macroish.

Shockoe festival Richmond VA-Draft: Was told it was a golden ale. Weak grain and vegetable taste and aroma. Yellow color, clear, with no head. Decent hop finish.

On tap at Roland’s Iron Landing in Pittsburgh. Off fermented fruity aroma and taste that is strangely attractive. Barely any carbonation. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance. Comes on like a good personality pale lager.

Draft at Arlington Cinema ’N’ Drafthouse. Waitress wasn’t sure if they had this or Backdraft, and as what I drank was not a brown ale, it has to be this. Typical, but honestly good beer. Nice flavor, but not quite what I’d expect from a wheat, more amber/golden like.

On tap at the River City Beer and Seafood Festival. Clear golden body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet caramel and light honey aroma. Sweet caramel flavor with a grassy bitter ending.
