(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a handsome, clear, dark brown with a warm, reddish glow. Small, creamy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body, notes of roasted malt and a coffeeish edge. Almost no bitterness. 211006

An opaque hazy brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty again with dominating notes of caramel. And inspite of the 5.2% ABV I find the body thin. I find it somewhat boring.

Bottled. Black opaque, small beige head, which disappears quickly. Mild roasted malt in aroma along with wooden hints. Flavour is roasted wet wood with hints of smoke. Quite watery and tasteless, though it looks like a stout... Rich biting carbonation ruins the palate too.

Bottled 2004 version (BB 06/2005)
Dark brown, almost opaque. Quickly fanishing head. Lively carbonation - this is like Coca cola. Sweet, roasted, a bit malty dunkel-like nose. Malty and roasted but harsh, unbalanced mouthfeel. Long bitter-harsh aftertaste. I can’t find much Christmas here (6/4/4/2/11 2.7) Re-rated 2005 version
Black color with disappearing head. A bit skunky, burned bread aroma. Medium bodied. Good roasted bread malty very German schwarzbier flavor. Sweet corn in the finish. (5/3/5/3/11 2.7)

Almost a self-contradiction: Black as a stout and with a creamy head, but almost as tasteless as (American) Budweiser...

Dark lagers are the traditional Christmas beers of Scandinavia, and this is the darkest, smoothest, and maltiest of them all.
