(hiver 2005-06)

Decent stout. Better than a guiness. A little malty, a little nutty bitterness. Some roast aromas. Not very sweet really. Pours pretty black. Notes got sketchy by this time of night. On tap at brewpub.

On tap at Le Cheval Blanc, pours a dark amber brown with a small light brown head. Aroma of light caramel malts and dry fruits - doesn't smell like a stout. Flavour of subtle dark fruits and caramel malts, some very light roasted malt. Very light-bodied for a stout. Decent flavours but the body doesn't strike me as a stout. Weak, but drinkable.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan, creamy and dense head. Aroma is roasted malty, liqourice and dark breadish. Toffee, liqourice and dark malty flavoured. Bitter and dry malty finish.

A beutiful black beer with bubbles that runs downwards as a real stout, top that off with a thick creamy brown head. The aroma is slightly roasted, while the flavor is lovely sweet and roasted, combined with notes of nuts. The mouthfeel is very smooth. I have a hard time really describing it - but it is a really nice stout.

Great black beer with a sustained creamy moka head. Matly chocolate aroma with some hops. Bitterness from hops overlay the chocolate malts, with a touch of coffee grinds, a bit lactic . Good body, and creamy.

Very black and opaque. Somewhat sweetish, medium bodied. Obvious oatmeal flavour, good bitterness. Well balanced.
