Bottle. Amber color. Malt, oily hoos and dried red fruit in the aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with earthy grassy oily hops and hints of red fruit. Somewhat watery.

Hazy orange colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are strong with rye and also floral, resinous hop. Full bodied. Nicely bitter.

Rye IPA by Amsterdam's Bird Brewery, bottle at Biertuin in the Linnaeusstraat, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Lightly lacing, off-white, bit loose head, yet still relatively stable, over a hazy, deep amberish 'old orange' blonde beer with vaguely khaki-ish tinge near the bottom. Aroma of toasted onions, old grapefruit peel, pomelo, withering kitchen herbs, wet sandwiches, pine resin, dried mango flesh, moist peanuts, rainwater, some 'old hop' dankness. Fruity onset, peachy and apricot-ish with sweetness countered by quite sharply stinging, numbing carbonation adding a lot of mineral aspects; smooth peanutty maltiness with toasty edges and indeed prominent 'rye spiciness', accentuated by a long, bit piney, grapefruity hop bitter finish, peppery and drying. Bit overcarbonated and the old hops, even if I don't mind this aspect too much, would better be replaced by fresher ones - but this is mere nitpicking, in all this is a damn fine IPA and a damn fine beer, like most of Bird's creations.

Bottle @ home. Hazy dark orange color, full sized white to off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma amd flavor are malts, hops, old hops, a bit dusty, decently bitter. Average to decent body, firm carbonation. Meh, not very good imo.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Almost clear reddish amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, some hops, resin, light spicy. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, resin, toffee, some hop bite, spruce, bitter finish. Light bodied, watery texture. Another so-so Bird brew, still not convinced.
