Vestfyen Classic is a slightly darker and more full-bodied beer, compared with the Vestfyen Pilsner, and brewed with the same good raw materials. Vestfyen Classic thus constitutes an excellent alternative as companion to the classic Danish lunch table.

Vestfyen Classic was launched at the beginning of 1997 and, at a very early stage, it proved to be popular. Today it is a natural element in the assortment.

Bottled (Beerangel, BB 10/2009). Pale amber color, small white head. Caramelly-grainy aroma. Crisp carbonation. Quite light, thin palate. Sweetish caramelly malty flavor with some distant hops. Hints of rubber - mouthfeel is kind of plasticky. Aftertaste has metal and apples. Weak vienna.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Nice coppery golden colour with small off-white head. Aroma is rubber, metal, hairapray and mild notes of caramel. Flavour is caramel malts, quite parfumeish and artificial sweetness which all finishes in a very rubbery thing. Sometimes I wonder if there’s any point in rating every beer you find in your path forwards...

33 cL bottle (as Krudtugle Classic). Pours golden deep orange with white head. Sweet and slight citrus fruity aroma. Very subdued grapefruit flavour on top of a vaguely sweet flavour. Dry finish but only with a minor bitterness. Mellow throughout. Not what I would expect from a classic, but certainly nice and different.
