From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color. Huge tan head. Rich malty nose. Sweet roasted caramel malt flavor reminiscent of plums and roasted pepper. Long chewy malt flavor well into the finish. Long malty aftertaste.

For some reason, I was expecting a little more sweetness since doppelboch has a BV rating of 65. Had a little more bitterness than expected but was not bitter per se. Very dark brownish orange in my three stooges glass. Over all not bad for a dark beer and the price.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Concerniing my Schell variety case: I was very happy with my variety in the case from Schell; pale ale, octoberfest, pilsner, double boch, caramel boch, firebrick, maifest, doppelbock, zommerfest, etc. Wow what a variety…..loved it.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cost was about $1 per bottle from JR Beer Warehouse in Rochester PA.

Mild malt aroma. Brown. Flavor is sweet with malt, and very little hops. Medium bodied. I like the caramel bock better.

Reddish brown. Big powerful maltiness. Complex. Rather bitter finish. A nice doppelbock.
