With yeast and hops in our trunks we teamed up outside Barcelona in Catalunya to brew this beer containing; an array or specialty malts, rye, moscovado sugar, hops and a hand full of Spanish cranberries (literally a hand full so don’t expect a fruit beer). Layered yet fresh, we sincerely hope that this beer will embody the passion, enthusiasm and hard work that went into making it.

Salud!

33cl bottle from Geers.

Reddish brown colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice root, candied citrus peel, malt, caramel and raisins. Light sweet flavour, liquorice and light bitter. Bitter, roasted malts finish.

Bottle at the De Molen second Tuesday tasting. Poured a lovely golden brown with a thick white head and some broken lace. The aroma was rich malty and reminded me of wood varnish! The flavour is bitter hoppy and woody with a lovely liquorice aftertaste. Hats off to the Swedes for thinking out of the box and brewing such a lovely and different beer.

At monthly De Molen tasting. Slightly unclear amber color, small to medium sized off-white to light beige colored head. Smell malts, some fruits. Taste lightly malts, red fruits, bitter. Ok beer. Medium carbonation, decent body.

33cl bottle at Schouskjelleren. Pours slightly hazy deep amber with a huge off-white head. Malty aroma with some roasty notes, fruits, caramel, fudge and hints of smoke. Sweet and caramelly with hints of fruits and a fairly light bitterness. (2012-12-08)

Huge, dense, coffeecream-coloured head with good lace over cloudy red-brown beer. Fruity nose, sligthly roasted, brown sugar. I seem to get cranberry indeed, or rosehips. Bitter-roasted, bready flavour as brown bread made with bitter dark grains. Something nutty (both arachide and Brasil nuts - but bitter-roasted as previous). Feels very carbonated. At least medium bodied. Long-lastign roasted flavours, but less bitter in the aftertaste than in the main taste. Special, one that gets out of the ordinary.

Bottled@SBWF2012 (thanks for the sips VsXsV). Slightly hazy ambery brown colour with a small slightly off-white creamy head. Aroma is fruity and floral notes with some mild herbal and earthy notes. Mild sugary notes as well. Flavour is quite similar, but in a rather sweet way with also some slight alcoholic sweetness pushing through.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, dusty hops, spices, and malt, leading to a dry finish.
