A regular beer when brewed by Ridleys. Reduced to a monthly August seasonal since the Greene King takeover. A smooth, malty tasting bitter with a hint of sweetness.

From old tasting notes. Bright orange copper color. Huge rocky beige head. Toasted malt nose with a talcum powder backdrop. Toasted malt flavor upfront with a hint of bittersweet hop character. Light dryish bitter hop finish. Bitter tart aftertaste is long and tasty. Nice balance. Good lacework.

Cask conditioned at The Crown, Charlton On Otmoor 28-07-06. Dark reddish amber coloured beer, with a large frothy white head. A decent enough uncomplicated malty session bitter that provides us with an alternative to the ubiquitous GK IPA.

Beautiful amber color. Simple aroma, with notes of malt and caramel, yeast. Easy drinkable; ordinary bitter, with some yeast (bringing in some fruitness too).

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A red beer with a nice orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries, especially lingonberries, and malt. The flavor is malty, slightly roasty, and with a nicely hoppy and dry end. The mouthfeel is smooth, but the body is thin.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Copper colour. Fruity and lightly roasty, some herbal spices and hay. The mouthfeel is soft and lovely vital. It’s somewhat woody with salty finish. A good, quaffable bitter served in excellent condition.
