Hazy and dark chestnut with a lasting creamy head. Malt, fruit and even a hint of strawberries in the aroma. Sweet and relatively simple flavour, but it’s well made and one of the best in The Country of Boring Brown Ale.

On tap at The cockney pub, Aarhus: Unclear murky brown with thick white head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts - little caramel sweetness Extremely low carbonation. Flat. Watery texture. Very ordinary brown ale.

Handpumped. Brown colour. Sweetish, malty aroma. The flavour has a sort of dusty roastedness and a bit of horse. Flat, but appropriate carbonation. A nice brown ale.

[Cask at Købehavnske Øldage] Clear brown. Nutty, roasty malt aroma. Dry and papery. Dominated by cardboard. Low-medium bitterness. Unusually lifeless for a Wintercoat beer.

A deep red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has some buttery notes besides malt and berries. The flavor is sweet with notes of cowberries and malt on a buttery back ground, leading to a very dry and roasted end. The bartender tells me it tastes as it should, but I believe something is wrong, but is it at the brewery or the pub? I don’t know.
