330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, chocolately and slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, caramel, treacle, some liquorice, cacao, fruity overtones of bramble and blueberry, some vanilla, a smoky touch as well. Taste is bitter hoppy and bitter, roasty dark malty, slightly chocolately, spicy, minimally metallic, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, some cocoa, a fruity touch of blueberry and bramble, subtle malty sweetness with hints of caramel and tracle, even honey with an earthy touch, smoky overtones, all accompanied by subtle vanilla flavours. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate, fine and gentle, nevertheless efficacious carbonation, lingering, bitter hoppy and roasty finish. Superbly balanced: the malty flavours come into their own, unadulterated, the hoppy counterpart lifts the whole fabric and generates thereby dangerous drinkability - comme il faut.

Bottle. Pours black, with a small, fleeting, brown head. The nose is cinnamon, harsh roast coffee, chicory, earth, and molasses. Sweet and malty, with a mild, sharp bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a sharp, acidic, and grainy mouthfeel. This is a pretty harsh, but solid, stout.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, thin light brown head. Taste: Dark roasted malt, decent hopbitterness, subtle hints of chocolate, coffee, bourbon and smoke, dry mouthfeel. Bittery earthy finish with vanilla hints. Decent ‘old fashioned’ imperial stout, without all those ‘modern’ additions / flavourings. Nice one.
