Sampled from calebas at the "brewpub". Pale pink and grainy with some sediment. There’s a touch of freshening citric acid up front, and it is not as thick as most commercial sorghum beers. Flavours consist of a mix of boiled maize with notes of berliner weisse. Unless you drink it as you are supposed to (with big gulps) some maize meal will stick in your throat. It is surprisingly refreshing, especially compared to commercial samples, but the experience lies more in meeting the Zulu people and enjoy the scenery than in the beer itself.
