Bottle (9/18/18) from Greg and Jane's Beer & Wine. Appearance is opaque black with no sparkle, nice viscosity, thin ring of beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, orange, mild bourbon. Taste is strong rich roasted malt, chocolate and milder orange, mild complimentary bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with silky, thick texture, soft-to-lively carbonation, a bit of heat/alcohol burn (less as it warms), and finish as taste. Overall, the orange is a little bit mild but that is somewhat nitpicking as there are so many other great attributes.

500ml on Brian's deck. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: sugared citruses and berries, quite sweet. Taste: very sweet, along the same lines, roasted malts, some citrusy bitterness. Overall: good one.

Dark brown. On the nose, lots of bourbon, smells maybe a bit harsh. The palate has a lot of bourbon, it is harsh, there is an orange note, and it's orange character is pretty messy...there's just something about this that clashes.

Jet black brown with a small beige head. Deep chocolate and cooked orange. Cooked sweet orange and fudgy chocolate. Quite rich, viscous and nice.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out chocolate orange, citrus zest, and a little bourbon. Flavour is wonderfully rich and complex, with loads of oranges, orange zest, moderate cocoa, and bourbon. The alcohol is prominent but not abrasive. I'm not a big fan of orange and chocolate together, but this is beautiful. Lovely.

Pours black with some brown around the edges, and a medium light brown head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of bourbon, orange, chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, chocolate malt, orange rind and vanilla. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and orange aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Sampled at Ace&Kees festival. Wet dark brown with brown head. Huge bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, light orange peel, boozy bourbon barrel, sweet creamy chocolate malts with a touch of coffee. Quite sweet and solid medium bitter. Full bodied with boozy finish. Nice, but I don’t really get anything too interesting from the orange.
