Tap @ SFBC. Dark color, short head. Good coffee and chocolat aroma. Taste of licorice, roasted malt. Bit sticky. Quite ok stout actually.

Draught at the brewpub. Black, creamy nitro head. Strong roasty coffee aroma,. Dry and cottony soft with lots of coffee. salty bitter finish. Unusual good nitro stout.

(On tap) Black and opaque with a beige head. Lightly burned aroma with some licorice. Medium body with sweetish, roasted malts and a vaguely burned edge. The finish is dry with basically no bitterness. 250307

Draft. Not as bad as their bock, but this has to be one of the worst stouts I’ve had in a long time. Very dark amber - not black, not even close - with little head. Roasty flavor and aroma, but a thin body with buttery tastes that just made me get up and leave. It might be a cool brew pub to hang out in - history and all that - but the beer is awful.
