English dark beer can be produced in many different ways, but instead of a modern version ours follows a traditional English porter. We produce a relatable and popular Brown Porter. This is a dark beer which breaks the rules and has no sickeningly sweet aftertaste. When creating the recipe we used Maris Otter, the queen of malts, and added some characteristic ingredients such as peeled roasted malt, Brown Malt, caramel malt and the English hop, Fuggle. Who's it for? Hungarian dock workers and captains.

At the flat of Guillaume, the last week-end, at Lausanne. A tasty brown ale/porter powerful and decently aromatic, malty, nutty, smooth, 19.02.20.

Bottle @ Zing. Pours black with thick beige head. Nose is nice chocolate and roasted notes, and has the same character, but with a rather thin body. Closes with short finish, has light body and carbo.

Bottle from De Bierliefhebber. Aroma is roasted malt with milk chocolate, nuts, a touch of coffee, a little liquorice, and fleeting notes of tobacco. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Pretty light but tasty Porter.

Deep dark brown colour, good frothy tan head, dissipating slowly, light lacing. Aroma roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, brown sugar. Flavour medium sweet and bitter, malty, coffee, dark chocolate. Sweetbitter aftertaste, coffee groundings, light licorice, spicy notes. Medium body, oily to watery texture, average carbonation. Well-balanced, nice dry bitter notes, nice brew.

Bottle. Almost black. Dark chocolate and caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet soft roasty flavor with caramel and chocolate. Carbonation is soft. Well made and tasty, but fairly simple.

On tap at MONYO, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out light cocoa powder, with subtle earthiness. Flavour is quite light, with earthy notes, toasted malt and chalk. Powdery, chalky palate. Not bad.
