On tap at Escollo, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of dry, earthy cocoa. Flavour is dry, with toasted malt, earthiness, a touch of bitter cocoa, and even some hoppy bitterness. Dry, malty finish—fairly thin but decently constructed. Solid.

Some roast and lots of caramel and unfermented sugar. Black pour woth good head and lacing. Ingredients don’t mesh super well on this one. Tap at brewpub.

Draught at Graciela, Mexico City. Near black, small beige head. Aroma of coffee and tobacco. Dry and firm withmedium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Some salty espresso. Long bitter finish with some tar and resin. Really well made porter. Love it!

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet butterscotch malt with light coffee notes. In mouth, a sweet roasted coffee butterscotch, grassy hops, so-so. On tap at Graciela, March 31 2013.
