(Bottle, Rautjoxa, Åre, 23 March 2015) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of peaches, bread, sweet malt and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with bread, peaches, grass and a gentle floral bitterness. Medium body, fairly sweet. Generic and drinkable, but not much more. Till Export used to be what we grew up on in Jämtland in the late 80’s, but then the brewery was closed. So it was with both anticipation and a slight fear I tried this one. I guess my frames of reference has moved quite a bit over the last 25 years (as the rest of the beer world), so I’m not really surprised I didn’t really love it. But to be honest this is a lot sweeter and less bitter than the original beer, and more or less just something for Carlsberg to put a label on, that might stir up some regional nostalgia.

Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan. Clear pale golden, brief head. Fruity nose with some citrus and buttery boiled vegetables. Sweetish with clean, rounded mouthfeel and ligth body. Slightly syrupy with notes of metal and ripe fruits. Low bitterness. Not the worst beer I had from Carlsberg.
