Big ass bottle @ home, thanks to Marlos for bringing this beast to me during GABF. Uruguay tick. Pale yellow appearance with a white head. Skunk, lemon, dull sweet malts, grass in the nose. Moderately carbonation. A little bit of cardboard but not too bad. Pretty easy to drink. Just bland grains with a hint of citrus. Not all that horrible for an international pale lager.

Norteña (Uruguay) - Adjuncts Pale Lager - 5% - 2.1/5

96 cl big bottle from a market in SP, Brazil, 10 R$ (3€), contains antioxidant INS224 (K metabisulphite) and stabilizer INS405 (Propylene glycol alginate), carbon dioxide INS209 (CO2).
Uruguay seems to be an exotic place, good to tick a new country in ratebeer list, expecting nothing. Ultra pale yellow color, clear, short white head, decent lacing. Quiet nose, Aroma is mildly grainy, corn, watery, reminds me of the local Antarctica Original. Flat taste. Very carbonated, fizzy. Thin body. Weak

A pale blonde lager with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, light crisp malt with faint adjuncts, corn grits, light hopping. In mouth, a sweetish malt with little else, no bitterness, watery and just plain bad. Can from Disco supermarket in punta del este, Uruguay.

Canned@PBF IX. Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is salty, griny, herbal and a bit toasted as well. Flavour is similar, making this a bit dull, but still surprisingly clean.

35,4 cl can @ PBF Ⅸ, BBE Thanks TBone!
Aroma is quite light with honey, some malt and cellar tones. Flavour has grainy malt, some honey and hints of apples. Quite typical ’exotic country pale lager’.

Can 354ml from Montevideo (PBF IX)
Clear golden color, small white head. Light hay and corn in the nose. Light-bodied. Light corn and green apple but mostly clean and unoffensive. Not a disaster.

354ml can @ PBF IX

Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Weak aroma with hints of bready malts and starch metallic notes. Taste is watery, slightly starchy and malty with some hints of earthy notes. Finish is watery and sweetish. Not very good.

Canned 354ml. -Clear yellow coloured, small white head, just few tiny bubbles of carbonation, some cheap grain in the nose. Sweetish watery grainy and slight cardboard taste with discreet touch of malt in the finish. Like I’ve expected.
