Reviewed from notes.
On tap at Vermont Tap House, Williston, VT.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a thin off white foamy head which slid off fairly quick to leave some light lace
Aroma: big milk chocolate tones, sweet cream, vanilla extract, big caramel tones
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas together to a super sweet and decadent quality; finishes extremely sweet through all of those aromas
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; pretty smooth all along the tongue but a touch of a sly cloying-ish note
Overall: I think if anything else extremely sweet was added this would have been a cloying mess of a beer, but somehow Stillwater decided to stop where they were and this ended up turning out pretty good.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted and burnt malt with dark chocolate, coffee, a touch of caramel, and some liquorice. Sweet flavour with a decent moderate roasty bitterness. Body is medium to full. Solid Sweet Stout with some welcome roast, choc and coffee. There's some liquorice but it doesn't really bother me that much.

09/09/20 Can from Covenhoven. Southampton goblet @ home. Brown on black body. Lingering, cookie dough head. Smells like malted milk balls, pepper, & a splash of booze. Mellow, unburnt, but very well toasted malt. Licorice, aged hop bitterness, dirt. Cola. Thin, sudsy, drys out on the finish. Pretty good, if a little murky.

Backlog June 2018. Black body under a big beige head. Aroma has light smoked dark malt, chocolate and hint of coffee. Taste is medium sweet, dark, smooth roasted malt, milk chocolate, fruity hops and hint of caffe latte. Fine body and same aftertaste. Nice one.
