Can - pour is dark ruby - thin, soapy lace - nose of hazelnut and toffee, but also some odd notes of earthy/soil and a sweet chocolate candy/tootsie roll quality - flavor is mildly sweet up front, followed by some dry roasted nut flavor, but it quickly becomes quite bitter/hoppy - I don’t inherently dislike hoppy browns, but the choice of hops here doesn’t really work - the citrus of the cascades in particular really clash with the malt profile - rough, difficult to enjoy.

Teller’s Tap Room, Golden tap ($4.75): Pours a dark brown with a creamy looking head. Aroma is roasted malt, toffee, nuts, and a bit of chocolate. Taste is a little hoppy with a nice amount of maltiness. Chocolate and nuts prevelant. Quite a nice full flavour.

Pours clear dark brown with a medium sized tan head and good lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, chocolate, coffee and nutty. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, toffee and ash
Wow, this blew me away. Not what I expected at all, a very good brown ale! It might have helped that I drank this after a terrible DFH beer. But this is very good either way.

Tap @ Tap and Handle Fort Collins. Pours a dark maroon orange appearance with a nice tan head. Quite roasty, fairly nutty, burnt malty, light coffee aroma. Kind of thin, burnt sugar, caramel, somewhat nutty flavor. Sort of decent, I guess.
