(Tap sample @ Bar Hop, Toronto, Jan 15/18) Pours clear copper brown with a big, long lasting fine dark tan head and a wall of lace. Notes are very watery dark malt, light sweetness; toast, black tea, astringency, bare hint of vanilla, no real lactose sweetness, lingering mouth coating tea astringency. Watery thin mouthfeel with basically no carb. From the description I was expecting something rather London Fog-inspired, but in the end the black tea without the sweetness of the other adjuncts made for a less than drinkable light beer.

Keg at Brother’s Beer Bistro, Ottawa. Cloudy ruby, rich creamy head. Huge Earl Grey tea aroma. Mid sweet with light body and creamy mouthfeel. Some bread, lots of tea with milk. Mid bitter finish. Heavily flavoured, but in a nice way.

A deep dark brown ale with a thick frothy lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with light grassy hops, light tea notes, coffee grind, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice malt with light coffee notes, tea bag, light vanilla, very nice. On tap at Brother’s Beer Bistro.
