Being able to sense not just the bitterness of an IPA, but the more nuanced contributions hops add to a beer, such as aroma and flavour happens over time. In a nutshell, beer drinkers are not pre-wired to like IPAs, you learn to like them, and so in a weird way it can be a craft beer badge of honour to order one more. Distinctive Bitterness 7.9%

On tap at Beerfest Singapore, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out metallic notes, with earthy hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is very vegetal, with a nastily herbal hop character. This is so hilariously incompetent. Lots of boiled vegetables. Crap.

Keg at Beerfest Brewery, Singapore. Hazy deep golden, small head. Fruity nose with some baking yeast and salt. Sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Fruity with dusty notes of untidy cellar. Long salty bitter resiny finish. Seems like beers from a homebrewing kit, handled by a beginner.
