Yay, the bottle says I can drink it now, which is necessary on Trump night. Pours a deep black. Thin beige head. Rich dark chocolate aroma with some berries. Dark chocolate, floral, some coffee and pomegranate maybe? Pretty good.

I tried XXIX almost exactly one year ago, liked it very much. This evening I have XXVII to sample. The bomber was brought back to me by a fine friend from one of the Deschutes tasting rooms. Much gratitude, Kenny. I have my Buffalo Bayou snifter getting the honor tonight. It shows a dark mahogany brown with a disappearing skim of tan foam. The nose, oh my, is good. Baking chocolate, malt and dark fruit. I take a sip, lighter with chocolate than the scent, apricot I assume, berry, grain, molasses, all with little bitterness. Some booziness in the background. Quite good, but not quite to the level I anticipated.

Bottle from cellar. Near black pour with a small collar of beige head. Roasty, chocolate aroma, dusty. Taste is chocolaty and sweet, finishes sticky.

Bottle from Nesters LRS, Whistler; best after 7/20/16; 3 years old
Black colour with large beige head. Mild aroma of dark malt, mushrooms, light berries. Full bodied without being thick, and with moderate sweetness; dark malts flavour, with a pinch of roasted malts; the bourbon character is also mild and well calibrated; there is a very light sour/fruity touch from the pomegranate, that adds complexity without disturbing the harmony.
Very good; still, at 30$ it's grossly overpriced.

22 oz. bottle. Aroma shows me a mild fruit note under molasses, toffee, cranberry, mild barrel. Flavor is interesting, Pomegranate (or what I taste is cranberry) molasses without much sugar. And I guess it does have "wheaty" backbone. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. The apricot is hidden but the fruity hints are here for sure. The fruits really change the feel of this. I like the creativity.
