Citra, with its fruity, juicy aroma and flavour, is one of our favourite hops. To showcase it, we’ve used a simple, yet elegant, malt body which puts Citra’s fabulous tropical flavours on display: think ripe lychee, passionfruit and guava. Sweet and tart, with a gloriously juicy mouthfeel.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of stewed tea, biscuit and grapefruit pith. Flavour of lemon, caramel and brown bread. Thin to medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. A bit safe and pedestrian, but not bad.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. A bit hazy medium to dark orange color, full sized off-white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is moderately malty with heavy citra hoppiness as was to be expected. Taste malts, hops, citra hops, hop bitter. Nothing too spectacular but a decent single hop IPA for sure. Decent body and carbonation.

33cl bottle on the balcony of my Bangkok hotel room. Ah this is the life! Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, fruity citrus hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a crisp, light, fresh, fruity, light pepper spice, light peppermint hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
