Citra, with its fruity, juicy aroma and flavour, is one of our favourite hops. To showcase it, we’ve used a simple, yet elegant, malt body which puts Citra’s fabulous tropical flavours on display: think ripe lychee, passionfruit and guava. Sweet and tart, with a gloriously juicy mouthfeel.

Bottle @Ulfborg Scooper. Cloudy amber, small white head. Grapefruit and pine aroma, light caramel notes. Flavour starts with a sweetish citrus bitterness, then gest more piney. Light and smooth.

330 ml bottle from Biernavigator.com, bb 10 02 17. Thanks to Werckmeister!
Dark amber to copper, very hazy body, with a medium, fluffy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of onion, citrus, grass, some tropical fruits, some biscuit.
Tastes of grapefruit, grass, caramel, herbs, some tropical fruits, some onion again.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes medium bitter, zesty, piney, grassy,
Seems that my bottle has some issues, as this is quite different compared to other ratings, with a rather strong onion note in the nose. Taste is a bit better, but also not really crisp, quite herbal. What a bummer, hopfefully I’ll get the opportunity to rerate this someday.

Bottle from O’Brien’s, Athlone [190616]
Amber, hazy, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of tropical fruits, bit grassy, citrus, mango, touch of sweet malts
Taste of citrus zest, grapefruit, tropical fruits, mango, sweet malt in the background
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, bitter hops, malts are too sweet. Finish of lingering sweet malt and bitter zest hops
Overall - A bit over stuffed, would have been a lot better if the malt base was lighter

Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is slightly soft and semi dry. Reasonable carbonation. Light malts, mild creamy sweetness. Good orange and spicy tangerine hops. A pinch of hop dust. Little mango. Tasty stuff.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original, Irish Craft Beer #1, shared with 77ships.
