KEKKON 結婚 (meaning "Wedding" in Japanese) is near and dear to our brewmaster's heart. First brewed for his wedding five years ago at his former brewery in Japan, it makes its return to commemorate their 5th anniversary here in Toronto. Devoid of its origin story, Kekkon is a refreshing, sour wheat ale with raspberries. Pouring a cloudy crimson colour and topped with a mountain cap of pearly white foam, the beer allows the fruit to sing. Expect a punch of jammy raspberry with an inviting amount of acidity mid-palate before a delicate dose of minerality in the finish.

Deep hazy purple-pink color. Dry, fresh raspberries. Light body, tart, excellent fruit character, super quaffable, light sweetness at the end . Love it

I believe this beer was first brewed at Ushitora for Luc (the brewer’s wedding) but alas I didn’t get a chance to try it then so I’m glad I can finally do so now: Godspeed Kekkon 5.1% Fruit sour Great looking purple color with no head and a tart juicy raspberry aroma that even includes the seeds. Medium bodied and dry with a round carbonic edge and a tangy tart raspberry flavor, good acidity but also a balancing jammy sweetness. Really good.

Tap at Takanoya. Cloudy glowing crimson color with a bright, white head. Pretty. Huge raspberry nose, creamy wheat. Sweet and tart, lovely fruity flavors, creamy and smooth. Not all that beery, but a great fruity drink.

On tap at Godspeed, pours a cloudy dark pink with a medium light pink head. Aroma is loaded with bright raspberries upfront, a little lacto and a soft wheaty base. Flavour is a little more muted, with soft raspberries, gentle tartness, and a wheaty base. Lots of muted fruit on the finish. Muted, soft finish. Pleasant but feels less than it could be.
