The secrets of the ancient recipe were passed by word of mouth, from father to son. Light hoppy beverage with pure malt aroma and inimitable taste is a true discovery for all who are devoted to classics and ancient traditions. Formerly 4.0% ABV.

Dorada limpia y clara. Algo más de un dedo de espuma blanca no muy duradera. Aroma muy malteado, cereal. En boca cuerpo medio y gas presente sin exagerar. El sabor es cebada y nada más, dulce cereal. Parece una sin alcohol. Muy floja.

Bottle from Redstone. Slightly hazy pale golden color with a quickly dissipating white bubbly head. Overly sweet maltiness in the aroma suggests an older bottle. Little to no hop aroma. Flavor is sweet, light sugary maltiness with little hop flavor to counter. Good for a country tick, but of questionable age and not very good.

Premium Lager? I wouldn’t want to try this breweries ’bog standard lager’ thanks. Small sample at the mega bottle exchange at Cotteridge Wines on 24th Jan 2015. Bright, clean, golden pour: white topping which faded like all beers in this style seem too. Sweet corn and grainy feel to both the nose and taste, some grass maybe but not a good example of the style in my eyes.

Can split at the Cotteridge Convention, thanks to Martin Northener, 24/01/14. Clear pale golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is grassy, pale malt, straw, cereal notes. Taste comprises paper, grain, pale malt, light citrus rind. Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, semi drying close. So so for style.

From a 500 ml bottle shared while Airstreaming across Canada. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Malty nose. Smooth and balanced, with flavors of caramel and biscuit. One of the better lagers I have had.
