Taking inspiration from classic ESBs, Call It a Day includes chocolate malt from legendary English maltsters Thomas Fawcett alongside pale and caramel malts for a taste that is both timeless and modern. Relaxingly smooth on the pallet and full-bodied at 4.9% alcohol, Call It A Day is chock-full of notes of dried fruit, cookie, and a light touch of dark chocolate. The perfect quaff for clocking off whenever you decide it’s time to.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before July 2022. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, minimally grassy-spicy, a little herbal-fruity aroma of caramel, marmelade, nuts and light tea. Gently sweet, malty, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy, a bit herbal-fruity taste of caramel, marmelade, nuts, tea and some raisins, followed by a short, gently bitter, quite dry, moderately herbal-grassy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Simole but tasty beer, truly British.

Small off-white head, reasonably stable over opaque chestnut beer. Malty nose with - I assume - British-intended wafts of diacetyl (not too much) and caramel. Later rainwater, wet dog, chocolate, brown bread. Caramel-, chocolatemalts in the mouth, but watered down, (mouldy) brown bread soaked in rainwater. Still rather sweetish in the end, bit liquorice-ish. Feels light bodied, lighter than a classical ESB as Fullers', f.i., despite being pretty slick. Almost nothing in the matter of aftertaste, just a hint at undescript bitterishness. This is indeed a (good) "quaff", but ESB is supposed to be just that tad above. Thanks to Joren for bringing, purchased at GeFeKo Berlin

330ml bottle. Clear, dark copper-ish, brown colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Mellow malty and sweet-ish fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of milk chocolate, hazelnut, red berries, some caramel, a touch of toffee, strawberry and rhubarb. Taste is dry, toasty malty, minimally tart, fruity hoppy, hints of strawberry and rhubarb, hazelnut, a diluted touch of milk chocolate and toffee, caramel. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium prickly carbonation. Nice composition, sadly a tad too light, watery and overcarbonated - nice.
