Međimursko Zimsko Pivo

On tap at Kvart, Zagreb. Clear dark golden, small to medium off-white head. Was quite cold, light malty aroma. Malts, spices, some alcohol, lightly bitter and hoppy background. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish, a strong beer. Overall nice beer, quite basic and not very complex.

Bottle, 500 ml shared with Kova. Pours amber with beige head. Caramel, malty, herbal, sweet, bit spicy. Bitterness in finish. Medium bodied. Not my thing.

Bottle at Goblet ZG. Hazy amber-brown body, thick, lasting off white head. Smooth, citric hoppy notes in the aroma, light caramelly maltiness... but sadly those citric notes are gone quick. Lean, sweetish malty taste, orange and coconut notes - wolf's there and so's mandarina! Smooth and very much atypical for a bock. Okay really in my book, but I can see why some don't like it much - it's definitely strange.

Bottled 500ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Dark golden/pale amber coloured, medium sized white head, caramel and light herbal nose. Sweet malty, biscuity, light caramel and notes of herbal hops with rather dry bitter finish. Not bad but missed style.

Bottle, 0.5l. Cloudy amber/brown pour, one finger frothy off-white head. Medum retention, lasting thin layer on top. Solid lacing on the glass. Malty nose, slightly toasty with nice herbal spiciness to it. Medium body, lively carbonation. Fizzy, prickly mouthfeel. Average texture, smooth, slightly chewy. Bittersweet taste and aroma, lingering spiciness. Aroma of caramel malt and toffee. Toasty, grainy. Nuts. Herbs and spices. Nice subtle alcohol presence, lingering in the background with subtle burn on the tongue. Finishes dry and spicy. Not bad.
