Cognac Barrel is an amber type beer worked with French oak wood and Cognac. The nose is woody, suave and the superb tan color is reminiscent of that of the famous spirit. Round, complex and rich, it appeals to all types of amateurs.

Pours nutty, caramelly brown. Big dense, very stable white head. Smell is medium-intense, cognac notes. Taste is full, sharp, bit grainy, oak, raisins. Mild cognac notes. Bit thin, compared to the expectations.

330ml bottle from V&B Annecy. Pours a hazed brown, small off-white head. Aroma of grainy sweet malt. Taste presents a lot of maltloaf, dried currants and a faint cognac influence. Light body, fairly smooth, a touch drying, hiding the alcohol well. Not really the beer I expected, but it's pleasant.

Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth´s House. A almost clear reddish dark golden beer. Aroma of dark riped fruits, vanilla, wood. taste of dark riped fruits, wood, vanilla. A bit boozy, okay!

Small beige head. Barely translucent deep dark red body. Funky earthy aroma with dirty roasty notes. I can’t name it, but the aroma is typical of dark beers which have been in wine barrels. Sweet dirty herbal taste with earthy roasty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat mouthfeel. Sweet herbal roasty aftertaste with earthy notes. Weird flavour with surprisingly little complexity. Very hard to like this beer. (0.33l bottle, not sure where from.)

0.33l bottle. This one pours a cloudy deep dark copper brown colored body. It has a nice medium sized fading beige head, softly both islandy and sidesticking. It smells smells really good. Sweet sticky and malty sweet. There's also a slightly tart woody sourness here. Yeah, undoubtedly a wood sourness. Red berries. Smells quite nice. Makes me wonder how it will taste. Let's try: hmm.. Tastes good. Not sweet not sour. Woody though. Caramel and malty sweet. American Blueberry skin, a little astringent dandelion bitterness. Lots of flavor, quite a tasty one. Not a typical barley. Nice and oily in the mouth and it's just below average on the prickling carbonation. Liked it. 27.05.2017

Hazed amber color with a fine tan head. Good intensity in the aroma. Full body and a smooth carbonation level. Nice sweetness and a oily texture. Dried fruits, bready, wood, toffee and some cognac in the flavor. Tasty evening sipper.
