Cognac Barrel is an amber type beer worked with French oak wood and Cognac. The nose is woody, suave and the superb tan color is reminiscent of that of the famous spirit. Round, complex and rich, it appeals to all types of amateurs.

Bottle - Dark toffee and some barrel cognac sweetness. Dark brown with a very active and rich light brown head. Some anise up front, dark toffee and barrel notes come through. Alcohol and booze is in check with a woody and dark finish.

330ml bottle from 2016 craft beer advent calendar. Pours a murky red-brown with plenty of sediment floating around and a huge, fluffy, long lasting, beige head that leaves plenty of lace. Sweet aroma of dark fruit, caramel malt, cognac, bread, spice and oak. Sweet flavour of dark fruit, brown sugar, caramel malt, spice, vanilla and oak with warming cognac in the finish. Full body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty.

330 ml. bottle. Amazing label. Hazy orange with little head. Head is brief but of a very interesting colour, very low tanned milky mocha. Interesting. Nose is sweet chestnut warming honey & cereal syrup, thick & sugary, pleasant, intriguing with nice cereal & chestnut notes, low spirit. Bit fizzy. Taste is of warming honey, very big sweet cereal, cooked apple, syrupy, more cheap honey & sugar, warming, caramel, toffee, some alcoholic spirit warmth & taste. Bit fizzy, body is thick cereal & cheap honey, dominating qualities, simple, sweet, quite good & interesting. Intriguing affair.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks mom & dad for this bottle! Deep amber with a beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, stale hops, nutty note, vanilla, wood, and alcoholic notes. Sweet flavor with malt, caramel, wood, toffee note, vanilla, vinous note, and a bit of bitter stale hops. Medium-bodied, rounded mouthfeel.

0,33l bottle at home shared by 3. No obvious BB date. dark brown color, small off-white head. smells of marzipan, spices, light barrel notes, light alcohol, some caramel, bit milky. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of spices, light dried fruits, alcoholic, earthy, rather alcoholic, raisins. finishes rather alcoholic with notes of raisins and spices. good one, but quite alcoholic especially on the taste, overall ok, but could be a bit smoother.

Bottle at home, 5th August 16. Pours brownish, the aroma is liquor, vinous, bitter, barrel. Taste is bitter, sweet, not overlly, barrel, wood, liquor, slight sour, tingle. Really unusual, not too sweet, slight medicinal Barley wine, with hops. Decent stuff

Botella 33 cl de vivalabirra tomada en el momento en Belmonte 15..07..2016. Color marrón oscuro turbio con espuma beige. Toques a cuádruple belga algo dulce de frutos pasos y con una dosis buena de maderas empapadas y ligera sensación de licor. Cuerpo medio a intenso algo espumosa y densa. Bastante buena. Para repetir.
