bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - This brew has a mild smoke aroma. The flavor is of mild, sweet malt and of course smoke. It’s bubbly on the palate and utterly bland and underwhelming.

12 once bottle from the asshats at Total Wine, West Richmond, VA. Pours a lightly hazy pale golden color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy smoky notes with a definite mesquite vibe and pale grainy malts. The taste is fairly strong and slightly tangy smoke. Some pale malts sneak in, but the smokiness is definitely the star in this one. Thin-medium bodied. Decent beer.

Bottle with a twist off cap. No real smoke in the aroma. No sign of smoke in appearance, just pale lager eye. Goodly amount of carbonation. Each swig is followed by a burst of something smoked in the back of the throat. Some indications of helles in the beginning part of the gulp. Weird light bacon smoke finish.

12oz bottle. Filtered bronze-orange. Foamy white head. Mild doughy lager aroma. Rather well done Lager, quite creamy and smooth. Some smoky tones, but they are pretty well balanced. There is some faint lemony hop crispness, but overall just a very smooth malty beer. I could drink this beer all day long. Not unlike a Cream Soda, very drinkable, no trace of alcohol.

Bottle from BevMo. Pours darkish gold with a 4-finger off-white head. that did some laceing. Aroma of pale lager with a hint of bacon. Medium minus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is smokey like bacon. It’s a rather mild smoke, but, hey, it’s a summer beer. A good smoked lager. Finishes mildly smoked. Tasty.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a medium white head over a clear golden body. Aroma of soggy wood, smoke, metal, grass and corn. Taste is lightly smokey, bready, metallic with some corn tortilla. Typical Shiner product. Fizzy and thin. Not horrible, but not good.

Pour is a golden with a large white head. Aroma is grain and very little smoke. Flavor is is a little grassy with some grain and some corn. Where is the smoke? Deffinatly not a smoked and more like a poor man’s helles.

Bottle. Pours an orange golden with a medium frothy off white head that diminishes quickly leaving behind decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is corn malt and light smoke. Medium mouthfeel with a watery malt flavor with a light smoke finish. Another average beer from Shiner.
