From notes. 12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Aroma of caramel and light wood smoke. Taste is about the same. Overall, very good. My first smoke beer. I really like this.

Bottled. A golden beer with an off-white head. The aorma has notes of smoke, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of smoke, combined with medium notes of malt and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

On tap at TJs Restaurant on 11/21/2010. Mostly clear golden amber body with a small frothy white head. Nice smokey aroma with a light pilsner malt background. Sweet pilsner flavor on a smoke background. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

12 oz. loose bottle, $1 @ Binny’s. It’s the coldest night of the year; why not pop open something with a label that calls out "summer" (or at least "pitchers and catchers report in ten days." Looks like any standard pale lager, a little more color, though, and a steady stream of bubbles. Smell is, what else, mesquite smoke. Not overdone, but you can see why this isn’t often used for beer. Taste lets some decent bready malt get through before the mesquite catches up. Can’t get too much further into it as the winter cold is making my sinuses act up. And there is some smokey aftertaste sticking in my throat, but no better or worse than anything from Bamberg. I won’t mind having a sixer this summer to go with some smoked pork loin.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a medium sized soapy yellow-white head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma did not have a whole lot going on but was lightly tangy with a mild mesquite note. The flavor was chewy and tangy with light wood, mesquite and smoke underneath. Medium finish. Medium body. Odd.

Bottled 355ml. -Clear golden coloured, medium sized creamy white head, soft smoke nose. Slight malty, moderate grainy and very mild notes of smoked meat with odd metallic notes in the finish. So-so beer.

12oz bottle pours clear deep gold with copper hues and meek white head. The modest aroma puts out sweet sugary malts, some graininess, a touch of spicy hops and pork like smokiness. The taste has quick notes of lageriness, noble hops and vague sugary sweetness that got swallowed up by moderate smokiness. The smoke is mostly smoked bacon and charred wood and lacks any crazy campfire or bacon grease essence hugely smoked beers can have. It dries out a bit into the finish. Pretty approachable smoked brew.
