Bottle. Pours nearly clear rich amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with fruity notes and touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with bitter, hoppy and metallic notes and fruity touches. Estery aftertaste with malty and mildly acidic touches. Low carbonation. Not bad for the style.

1 l bottle bought at the smalll bottle shop beside the brewery. A lot of pressure in the swing top bottle. A clear dark copper in the glass, more than two finger head. A lot of malt and caramell on the nose. Taste is pale malt, sweet caramell, hop in the second row. Nuts or allmonds with a low bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice drinkin´ beer!

Mild röstiger und bitterer Beginn. Leider bleibt das Bier mild und langweilig, später minimal hopfig. Hat man schnell wieder vergessen. 9/9/8/7/7/7

100 cl bottle, BBE 10.10.2012
Quite malty aroma with berries and nuts. Flavour has lots of nuts, some berries, malt and hints of smoke and grilled sausage. Dry finish. Smooth palate is low on CO2. Easy‐going and good.

1-l bottle, bought in a getränkemarkt in Nordhausen. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice creamy head. Starts mild, modest malty, more and more mild-sourish and moldy. Some caramel hints. Finish still mild, too mild. Okay, but nothing special.

(swing top bottle, 100cl) Hazy, literally copper coloured hue with a short and slightly beige foamy layer. Roasty malty and distinctively nutty aroma, which seems to be part of the hose character of the Wippraer beers, accompanied by notes of caramel and a herbal hoppy background. Sweet and roasty bitter flavour, almost medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roasty and nutty malt character with loads of caramel/Blockmalz and delicately herbal accents; sweet bitter, even a bit burnt malty and lasting finish. Schmackofatz. 24.VIII.11
