Altaluna della Scala was the beautiful Mastino II’s daughter. Unfortunately, to date we do not have a lot of historical information about her, but she is said to be a beautiful, charming and mysterious woman. In fact, even her name arouses the same feelings. Her father couldn’t choose a more suitable name for her.

Birra Mastino’s BLANCHE was named after this gorgeous lady: in addition to the sweetness and mystery as the name itself suggests, this pure malt BLANCHE beer has all the richness of taste and aroma qualities.

The nose has all the typical aromas of Belgian high fermentation beers: fruits, white flowers, pepper and coriander. The sweetly malty mouthfeel is perfectly balanced with a dry, spiced and lightly bitter aftertaste.

On tap at Bir&Fud in Rome-Italy. Pours a very cloudy golden color, tick white cap. Nose: spicy, grounded pepper, zest. Mouth: frizzy carbo, quite medium-high tough. Pepper, tangerine, spices, the finish is a bit unbalance although the beer is well-made and clean. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
