There was a time in old-world France when nearly every family farm had its own brewery. It was a necessary part of farm life to provide a ration of beer to the laborers, as beer was safer to drink than plain water. Farm Hand is our interpretation of what these rustic farmhouse beers must have been like. Brewed with Michigan-grown wheat, we leave this beer unfiltered and rustic to accent the natural lemon-citrus tartness from our fermentation process. This beer is easy drinking for any occasion, but reveals layers of complexity for those who wish to discover them.

16oz can. Thick, hazy, unfiltered orange-yellow body. Thin, patchy head. Not your typical BS US Saison, this one is pretty unique and rustic. Has some funky delicate earthy wheat and mildly sour undertones..reminiscent of a Berliner Weisse in some respects, but has a pleasant rounded backbone, maybe a hint of oats or nutmeg. Quite a unique and enjoyable variation on the style, a great addition to any Saison tasting.

Draft. Hazy pale yellow color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of funky and peppery grapefruit. Taste is dusty straw and barnyard. A proper saison.

Pour from can. Hazy, fuzzy appearance. Fizzy on the palate, but refreshing. Simple, tangy, not spicy or complex.

16 ounce can courtesy of northernbrews. Thanks! Pours a hazy straw color with a thin fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bready malts, herbal notes spice and a faint bit of butter. The taste is citrus, spice, bread, tart finish, faint grass. Medium bodied.

Clear straw color with a medium thick and foamy white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, yeast and herbs. Light body with flavors of wheat, mild funk, yeast and a touch of fruit. The finish is sweet up front with a grain and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap @ Brewery Vivant. Fairly cloudy, light yellow appearance with a white head. Slightly spicy, light barnyard, belgian yeasty, lemon aroma. Lemon tangy, Belgian yeasty, slightly bland flavor.

16 oz can. Pours a hazed straw color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is quite musty with green apple. Pale malt flavor with some apple and some light yeast flavors. As it warms, flavor starts to lean more heavily toward some nice yeast flavors, as does the aroma, and it picks up an aftertaste of honey.

Can. Lemon, berry and malt aroma. Slightly hazy yellow color with moderate head. Slight sweet-tart lemon and earthy barley malt flavor. Not quite like the typical saison but still a good drinking beer.

Sweet ass 16 oz can! Pours a nice orangish gold with lots of bubbles and a medium head. Aromas are a little funky with honey and grass. Flavor is about like the nose... honey and grass are the main draws. The funk backs down a little bit and there is just a hint of lemon edginess. It’s good... definitely the best saison in a can that I’ve ever had, but that’s a sample pool of exactly one.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear straw body, thin off-white head. Sourish cerealy, grassy nose. Grainy body, grassy, herbal, and tangy, quite crisp, like a pils that has been given a kiss of sour mash. Crisp, hoppy finish.
