Bottle at the brewery. Quite subtle jasmin presence, which is really hard to pick up due to the rather assertive phenolic spicy yeastiness. Light bitterness, light sweetness. Easy drinking, feels more or less like a standard saison. Good.

En Stoemelings' take on the old witbier style, longneck bottle from Fermenthings. Intricately cobweb-lacing, egg-white, medium thick, stable head over a misty straw blonde beer with vague khaki tinge. Aroma of fresh lime juice and old lemon zest, sourdough, Granny Smith apple, raw rhubarb, sorrel, hard pear, unripe banana, school chalk, pumice, summer purslane, chervil soup, freshly cut thistles, starfruit, less pleasant smoky phenols especially when warming up, fresh coriander leaves, bath foam, even a touch of ladies' perfume. Crisp, fruity onset, lots of Granny Smith apple and Conférence pear, some raw pineapple, starfruit and green banana, restrainedly sweetish with a strong sourish aspect enhanced by lively, minerally carbonation; lean, supple, soapy mouthfeel. Soapy wheatiness dominates the middle with those green fruits persisting, white bread dough aspect, dryish, very grassy and 'green' herbal finish with a touch of coriander or other dried seed spiciness but more brightly coloured by a lemongrass effect, aromatic and sourish, with a chalky note underneath. Minerally, chalky, sourish, elegant and notably refreshing example of an old and worn-out style, enjoyable, but not En Stoemelings' most impressive creation so far - but that could be just me, not being a big fan of witbier in general. Within its specific style, this is rather innovative and refreshing for sure.

Tap. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is fresh yeast, orange juice, bubblegum, dough. Taste is orange juice, wheat, bubblegum, a touch spicy yeast. Watery body, high carbonation. Not exciting, a bit too watery.

18/06/2016 @home - 75cl bottle from the brewery, Brussels. Clear pale blond, overcarbonated, massive soapy foam. Nose is grassy, lemon. Taste is some lemon, some wheat but it clashes with phenolic stuff. Suppose something went wrong with my bottle. Apparently I gave the good one to tderoeck by mistake ;-)

10/V/16 - 75cl bottle from the brewery @ home, Amy's visit - BB: II/2017, lot # 11-10 (2016-517) Thanks to Siegfried for picking this one up for me!

Clear pale blond beer, big aery irregular white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: banana, fruity, bit grassy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, bit lemony, fruity, soft bitterness, malty. Aftertaste: grains, grassy, herbal, soft acidity, little bitter. Nice one, I think I like this one the best of all their beers up until now (4).
