0,75 l bottle from Erzengel. Thanks a lot! Listed on the label with 8.7% abv. BB 27.04.2021. Darkest copper I´ve ever seen with a more than one finger beige head. Intensive malt and cherry fruity smell. Taste is also malty and intensive dark cherry. Some choco and roasted nuts in the second row. Present hop bitterness. Alcoholic but totally balanced. Indeed very nice stuff.

Huge thanks to quack-duck and Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, small head. Dry roasty malty aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, light metallical notes, some herbal hints as well. Finish well balanced, fine roasty malty, light alcoholic touch. Nice!

Bottle (750ml): Deep ruby-amber coloured, presumably not completely clear, smaller - but very stable - firm off-white head, moderate to solid sweet-bitter aroma of toasty malt, raisins and medical-herbal hops with some mild flavours of vegetables underneath; solid bitter-sweet flavour, surely full bodied, not overly soft; dryish toasty-malty finish, fruity flavours included, herbal hops in the dry aftertaste. Wow! A Doppelbock, which is neither too sweet nor sticky...

0.75 l bottle from 'Bergmann Stehbierhalle', best before April 2021. A little hazy, deep ruby with a thin, dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite fruity, almost vinous aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, cognac and strawberry with a touch of alcohol. Fairly sweet, intensely malty, slightly fruity taste of molasses, caramel, strawberry, redcurrant and a touch of chocolate, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, just a little alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Delicious, extremely well-balanced and pleasant beer, like a bottom-fermented variant of their Adam. Pretty good!

*On tap. Moderate grainy sweetish beginning. Rich and thick. Alcoholic hints, caramel and lots of heavy malts. Grain there, alcohol in the finish with hints of caramel and parts of wood.

Süffiger, wenn auch relativ süßer Beginn. Deutlicher Alkohol, moderat bitter, helles Holz. Unsüffig da schwer, die Süße nimmt allerdings schnell ab. Feine Karbonisierung, konstante Bitterkeit, kräutrige Nuancen. Kein Sommerbier... 10/11/9/11//10

Tap: Literally deep golden, clear, medium-sized, slowly collapsing creamy white head, bitter-sweet grainy-mineralic nose with a honeyish and herbal background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, a bit fizzy; lingering and warming bitter and honeyish-sweet finish. Chapeau! A moreish, well drinkable Doppelbock…
