28/5/2022. Bottle courtesy of Boris, cheers shared at the Prague GP beer share. Brandenburg rating #10. Pours clear dark mahogany red/brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Good looking pour. Aroma of bonfire, BBQ meats, smoke, ash, wood. Medium bitterness, very smoky. Medium body, slightly sticky, average carbonation. Bitter, woody finish. Not my favourite style but grew on me.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Smoky and minimally chocolately, dark as well as minimally caramel malty aroma, hints of smoked eel, ham, barbecue sauce. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, slightly smoky and minimally chocolately, dark malty, minimally diluted hints of ham, smoked eel, dark caramel; minimally metallic, dry finish. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively mild smokiness, good, sweet-ish, Bock-ish malt support - very nice!

Bottle (Danke, Martin!): Very deep amber coloured, presumably cloudy, mid-sized and stable off-white creamy head, moderate sweet nose of woodfire, roasted malt well detectable, accompanied by a light acidity and a distinctive bitterness; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, nearly full bodied with an acidic touch; lingering dryish woody-smoky finish with an increasing bitterness towards the very end. Far better than expected...

330ml bottle, thanks to Rauchbierlover! Pours very dark with a sparse pale beige topping. Aroma is pleasantly smoky, nicely malty. Taste continues with a lovely smoked meat character, ham, oak with soft roasted malt, medium carbonation. Very nice.

Danke an rauchbierlover.

Sehr gut. (15.10.2019.)
