US pint can from a trade with mansquito. Thanks a lot for my first NJ tick. Pours clear dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is maple syrup, coffee, faint smokiness. Taste is medium sweet, maple syrup, wood, coffee, light bitter finish.

Can from Total Wine in Union City, I think: pours murky brown with a beige head. Aroma is maple syrup, chocolate, hints of smoke. Taste is fairly sweet, malty, low bitterness, no real smokiness. Nice enough body.

16 oz can from Joe's Canal. Darker brown color with a thin off white head. Sweeter coffee, roast, maple syrup, some candied sugar. Smoke/ wood is light, but present. Nutty notes as well. Could have used a bit more smoke to balance out the sweetness.

16oz can. I generally avoid this brewery because everything is an adjunct-laden novelty beer. However, I am a sucker for anything smoked. This is apparently smoked and has maple and coffee. I imagined that the smoke aspect would be nonexistent. Now, I can't say I can taste the smoke because there is a dry espresso that is rather nice. You know espresso coffee is a bit smokey. So, I like it but I want less espresso and more coffee. Also, fortunately there is no pancake maple syrup. Dry coffee grounds aftertaste. Seemingly light stout underneath that but who can tell what the base beer tastes like?

16 ounce can. Opaque brown black color. Dense foamy tan head. Rich mocha malt nose. First sip is roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate and maple syrup. Silky mouthfeel. As the brew warms, notes of coffee and smoke emerge. Earthy, chocolatey, burnt sugar notes in finish. Quite tasty.
