It's Belgian, but not as you know it. Grailee's is brewed by Belgian craftsmen according to the traditional recipe of the Hefeweizen and adheres to the Purity Law of 1516.
It is a premium top-fermenting wheat beer maturing in the bottle. It has a hazy blond and cloudy appearance. Grailee's has a rich and complex body and is elegantly sparkling. The aroma features notes of banana which brings a surprisingly light sweetness.

330ml bottle from Beerwulf. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a thin broken white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is grainy malt, gluey, light toffee. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a crisp, skunky malt, earthy, light floral, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle. Pours hazy gold with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is malt, wheat, grass. Taste is light to medium sweet, fruity, apples, sour note. Don't think I've had a hefe from Belgium before. This one was pretty average.

33cl bottle from Beerwulf webshop. F: medium, white, quick gone. C: gold, light hazy. A: malty, bit wheat, spicy, banana touch. T: medium malty base, vaguely fruity, banana, bit spicy, grainy, soft carbonation, decent bitterness, not very for the style yet not bad beer beside this.

Thuis uit een flesje. Lijkt meer op een pils dan op een witbier, wat betreft uiterlijk en ook smaak. Redelijk voor dit percentage.

Belgian Hefeweizen (which still sounds a bit odd to me) made for a commissioner in Kortrijk, tasted from a bottle at Just Beer. Thick, densely moussy and creamy, stable, eggshell-white, closed, wheat-enhanced head over lightly hazy, pale straw blonde beer with greenish hue. Aroma of dry grass, bread crumbs, banana milkshake, raw wheat flour, clove-like spicy phenols, chewing gum, plaster, baking powder and something very vaguely meaty (proteins). Sweetish baked banana, cooked apple and stewed pear fruitiness in the onset, soured by quite intense, sharply stinging overcarbonation for this style, slick cereally, 'flour-like' wheatiness but a bit on the thinnish side perhaps; outspoken spicy phenols retronasally, floral hop bitterish touch yet ending a tad watery, with lingering banana ester. Not a bad effort at all, but compared with the standard Bavarian Weissbiere, a bit too thin and grainy.
