Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely "Wisconsin." So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Keg at Sour & Bitter 2012. It pours hazy deep red, with a thin off-white head. The nose is sweet cherry, artificial notes, cherry tunes (the sweet), marzipan and almond. The taste is sweet cherry, residual syrupy sweetness, hint of tangy lime, cherry tunes and gummy bears, with a dry finish. Medium body, average carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. I was hoping for a bit more tartness. Far too sweet. Tastes a lot like a commercial Belgian kriek.

Sample @ the Sour & Bitter event in Copenhagen. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a small white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet with burnt sugar, cherries, dandelions, brown sugar, lemon zest, orange zest and grass. Taste is sweet and sour with dark grapes, cherries, raspberries, burnt sugar, hay, dandelion and hints of brett. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and sour with cherries, dark grapes, bread and burnt sugar. Smells and tastes like Dr Pepper. Luckily I’m rather fond of that drink...

75cl Bottle at AHBS. Reddish amber colour, off white head. Aroma of sweet cherries, soda pop, marzipan. Flavour is rather sweet, almonds, marzipan, loads of cherry flavour, light tart finish. Light bodied. Nice, but why is this rated so much higher than e.g. Belle-Vue Kriek?

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear red with a small off pink head. The aroma is cherry fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a syrupy cherry flavor and sweet finish. A very impressive fruit beer.

Split a 750ml bottle. Poured a bright, vibrant red color, medium pink head. Aroma was that fake candy/medicine cherry one, the one that people seem to either love or hate. Well, I love it, so I was hooked, even before taking a single sip. It’s sweet - I’ll give them that - I don’t know how much of this I could really drink (as I’d say about flavored sweet lambics as well). But yeah, this was an enjoyable brew for after-dinner.

750 mL bottle. Pours a ruby red with a slightly orange head. Juicy cherry aroma, lightly tart. Flavor again has the juicy, almost medicinal cherry, combined against undertones of toasty malt. Dry, very slightly tart finish. Definitely a really nice fruit beer.

750mL bottle, pours a beautiful ruby red with a small beige head. Aroma of rich sweet and sour cherries, quite sweet and real (nothing artificial here), and some tartness. Flavour of rich cherries, more tart than Raspberry Tart but still not much in the way of sourness / tartness, more intense carbonation as well but not detracting in the flavour. Not complex, but the intense cherry flavours are wonderful. I prefer Raspberry Tart but this is excellent as well.

Red amber beer, small beige head. Aroma of sweet, sweet cherries. And lots of them. Tones of cherry pips, almonds, more cherry. Flavour really sweet. How can it be so sweet with so little alcohol, I would expect it to yeast out further. Cherry, marzipan, cherry pips, light sour tone which surfaces a bit later when the initial sweetness has cleared a little. Finish somewhat tart with lots of cherry.
To my flavour it is way too sweet, but otherwise all the right flavours are there.

At long last! Tried right after Rasp. Tart. Aroma of cherry cough drops, black cherry, menthol, cinnamon. This is also too sweet, but nicely tart as well in a more beery fashion. Slightly reminiscent of a Kriek. Huge cherry flavor with spice. Delicious fruit, nice tartness. A lovely beverage, but still too sweet for greatness as a beer. Purely as a beer the rating would be lower, but frankly, it truly is delicious. Can’t drink much, though.

1 Pint, 9 floz bottle. Red, a bit pink hazy liquid with small pink/white head. Aroma of cherries, cocktail cherries, a bit vinegar, cherry bubblegum, dr pepper, almond paste and quite sweet. Taste is sweet with lots of cherry notes and no bitterness and very light sourness. Quite dry. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Extremely nice taste... So good and very well balanced. Incredible taste for this ABV.
