Vestige is a saison brewed with smoked German malts and noble European hops. Formerly known as “Bowie,” this is our Schlenkerla Helles inspired farmhouse ale which incorporates a touch of beechwood smoked malt into the mash and is balanced by Saaz hops in the kettle. Blonde in color with notes of smoke, black pepper, lemon peel, and earth with a dry and refreshing finish.

Tap@MBCC May 2017, Copenhagen - gold yellow coloured pour with a white head. Fruity and light smoked pale malty, fruity citrus notes of lemon, some straw, hay, yeasty, slight tart fruity into the close.

Tap. Pours hazy pale golden, melon creamy white head, good lacing. Aroma is field grass, hints of smoke, floral notes. Flavors is light sweet, light plus bitter, just a hint of smoke. Light plus body, faint heat on the finish for some reason.

Draft at Hen of the Wood, Burlington, VT. Pale gold, white head. Smoky aroma with some fruitiness. Taste is smoke, yeast, spices, some fruitiness. Mildly sour finish. Not sure if the smoke works for this style very well.

Sample at MBCC 2017. Yellow with a white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, some smoke and hay. Similar taste. The body was medium as was the bitterness.
